1st - Lisa Kendrick (this was our last entry of the contest!)
2nd - Lorin Langone
(this was our 2nd person through the contest and had 10 tickets in the draw)
3rd - Shannon Strickland (this was our 1st person through the contest and had 20 tickets in the draw)
and our runner up: Hilary Tarr  if any of the above forfeit their prize then the next in line will move up.

Congrats to all who made it through and if you did and did not receive our special offer for making it through, please contact us and we will be happy to forward the info onto you! The special offer is good for two more weeks so you must take advantage of it before time runs out!

Here are the answers:

The first stallion was Apollon his clue:  "Eenie, meanie, minie, moe, pick a polka-dot from below, Apollon would never be your foe, so look for him and have a go..."  This one turned out to be probably the hardest one, which I didn't think it would be, any way pick a polka-dot from below was referring to his photo below all the other stallions photos, foe really didn't mean anything it just rhymed, so I used it.  His link was located on our directory page on his photo--one of the spots nearest his hip would send you to his page.

More answers to come shortly...

Here are the guidelines:

  1. This contest is set up some what like a scavenger hunt, you must find the missing stallions, each will tell you a password and a clue and you must follow all the clues & instructions fully to qualify to win.  The stallions will help you find the next clue or stallion in the proper order of the hunt.

  2. It's somewhat difficult and I think I made this years even harder then previous years, I have added some new twists and turns and some fun games too. You must find all the hidden stallions and their clues (6 this year!). You must figure out the order of the passwords in the scavenger hunt and follow any instruction the stallions may give you along the way.  Pay close attention to the (bad) rhymes and the words in their hints these are clues. collect passwords along the way and make sure to remember them. At the end of the game you will have to fill out a form page.   We will notify you only if your answer is sent properly via the form page, you will then be entered into the drawing.  This hunt does include dynamic features such as java script, FLASH etc. your browser must be able to handle these elements to compete in the contest--if not we are sorry but we will not/can not modify the game.

  3. The contest will run until January 19th 2004 or until 100 participants have made it to the finish, which ever comes first --The drawing will be January 20th or within 10 days of 100 participants making it to the end.  The very FIRST player to make it through the scavenger hunt properly will get 20 drawings/tickets in the final draw.  The second player to finish will get 10 drawing/tickets in the final draw and the third place finisher will get 5 drawling/tickets.  All other finishers will get 1 drawling/ticket towards final draw.

  4. Anyone who finds their way throughout the entire hunt will be lead to a form page--put in the code words just how you found them and as the instructions direct- in the order they are found to enter.  The drawing is for a free or discounted stud fee  to the winners *choice of Silverwood Stallions.  * If Sempatico is chosen the breeding can only be used on a NON TOBIANO MARE.

  5. There are three prizes: 1st Prize: A free stud fee to Silverwood stallion of winners choice, this does include booking but DOES NOT include shipping/lab fees.  2nd Prize: A free stud fee of winners choice, The second place winning does not include the booking fee of $400 or shipping/lab fees.  The booking fee must be paid within 1 week of notification of winning or prize will be forfeited to 3rd place winner. 3rd Prize: is a 75% discount off the pre Feb stud fee of winners choice same stipulations above apply, remainder of stud fee to be paid before breeding.

  6. This winners of prizes must have horses to be bred located in North America, breeding to be done via fresh cooled semen only.

  7. No employees, family members or associates of Silverwood Farm are eligible.

  8. One entry per household/farm/family/computer. Please do not cheat and give the results/clues to friends and family -- only one entry per family/farm/house hold/computer, Please do not enter a multitude of times under friends & families names/address--if we find out that this contest has been won through multiple entries you will be disqualified and your winnings will be forfeited to the next winner in the drawing, sorry.

  9. All breedings won will be under the terms of Silverwood Farms breeding contract.

  10. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ME FOR CLUES OR HINTS or with problems you may have with this contest--I will not help anyone in anyway--you are on your own.

I am adding several more clues for the WHOLE hunt--this year the hunt does not leave this site/URL as it has in previous years.  Also please do not fill out form's, guest book, etc. multiple times, this will NOT help you with clues, once is enough, thank you!

I believe that covers it, GOOD LUCK!  Here is your first clue: Eenie, meanie, minie, moe, pick a polka-dot from below, Apollon would never be your foe, so look for him and have a go...

For those who have asked here is the answers to all the clues in the first scavenger hunt:

  • The first horse, which was Spectrum was found on the bottom of the page that has our map and directions to Silverwood Farm. Here was his clue:

  • The Second horse was Hall of Fame and you had to sign our guest book to find him-he was on the thank you page for signing.  Here was his clue:

  • State of the Art was on our home page.  Here was his clue:

  • Now this one was the toughest one for most folks and stumped a lot of you.  The main man was of course Art Deco, but the word main was also referring to our main page-www.silverwoodfarm.com. sticky is referring to wax, click rhymes with wick and stick is part of a candle stick.  Our opening page for the holidays had a red candle on it you had to click on the wick to open up the password protected page.  Getting into the password protected page was also tricky and part of the hunt-So there you have it, hope it was fun even if you didn't win!

Congratulations to our 1999 puzzle winners!
1st- Katie Hicks
2nd -Jim Graber
3rd -Terri Wright
