| ATTENTION CANADIAN BREEDERS -
Because of new CEM regulations for shipping into Canada
you must obtain a permit to receive shipments. To
find out more about what this entails please read
this information.
The shipments we have done have gone well and without
any real hitches, unfortunately it is a bit more
expensive to ship, fees are detailed below. We are
only charging you actual costs to process the paperwork,
we are not charging for time or office fees.
Permits obtained
from CFIA are $35 for one time shipment and $60 for
multiple shipments (recommended) You should also choose
multiple ports of entry for your permit. You will
also need stallions registration information & numbers
which can be found on our
registration page.
We can not ship Friday to Saturday because the state vet
is not open on the weekends to complete the permits.
If
you have questions please call us we will be happy to

Shipping Info
Shipment orders
must be received no later than
12:00 noon EST
on day of shipment for over night delivery and no later
than 10:00 am for airport shipments.

We do about 99% of our shipments in box syringe containers and have had
excellent results with this method for the past 10 years. The boxes
we use are Equine Express II containers.
We do
not ship or collect on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays
and on some very rare weekdays if we have to leave for a long show. We do
ship 5 days a week including Fridays-the shipments are good throughout
the weekend, so do try to foresee if you’ll need a weekend shipment and
check with our:
show schedule
- calendar.
When you or your vet calls
(540-822-9110) for a
shipment
you will most likely get the answering machine.
Please leave a detailed message about your
order, include the following info: Name of breeder, name of mare, which
stallion you need the shipment from, address to where we need to ship, and
what day you need it shipped and arrived, such as; "We need a shipment
from Art Deco, sent today, Monday to arrive Tuesday" and
a phone
number where we can contact someone if we have any questions about your
shipment.
Your BREEDING CERTIFICATE comes in your first shipment of
semen you and your vet will fill it out as you breed
and preg check the mare
--DO
NOT SEND IT BACK WITH CONTAINER, you need to keep it
throughout the breeding of the mare.
We really prefer NOT TO DO DEPOSITS any more (this
makes for a book keeping nightmare) - The deposit is ONLY DUE if you elect not to use
the "pay as you go" payment method, listed
below, do not have a credit card on file with us, nor a Fed
Ex account #. If you use the pay as you go, or have a
Fed Ex account number on file with us you will also save
money.
The $200 container/shipping deposits are made payable to Silverwood
Farm, or a credit card on file can be used All shipping costs are deducted from this deposit. $25 is
deducted for any containers returned dirty and $25 a day is charged
for any container not returned within 10 days of receiving
shipment. Any refunds from the deposit are refunded at the end of breeding season, on or around October 1st,
unless your breeding report has been turned in and you are waiting to
following year to rebreed. A
$400 container deposit is required if you request an Equitanier and an
additional $50 per shipment, Equitaniers must be returned via
overnight shipping within 5 days of receiving shipment.
DO NOT return containers using our
FED EX account or bill to RECIPIENT, containers must be
returned at breeders/mare owners expense.
If a container is returned on our account, there will be a $100 return fee
plus shipping expenses due.
Silverwood Farm can no longer ship to any clients who have not paid for
their shipping and collections, so please keep your account current.
